Carrot - Celery Juice


An amazing weight loss recipe to start in morning. Its not only nutritious but also delicious. 
When I was watching a show in food channel, the chef mentioned that 24 stalks of celery is equivalent to 200 calories. This stuck me up to make this juice recipe with 2 ingredients.

Ingredients

2 Carrots, finely chopped
2 Stalks of Celery, cut into squares
Orange Juice, (as needed)

Method

  • Puree carrots first in a electric blender or a food processor. Then add celery and puree
  • Add orange juice to adjust thickness
  • Chill until needed

Lemonade

Beat the heat with homemade fresh lemonade with just lemons, sugar and water!! 

Summer is almost coming to an end and I always wanted to add another thirst quenching recipe in Shruchi Kitchen. I made this lemonade almost everyday. So here's the recipe !!


Ingredients

3 Glasses of water
2 Lemons
6 tsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Cardamon powder

Methods

  • In a pitcher, dissolve sugar and water with constant stirring
  • Squeeze fresh lemons and add cardamom powder
  • Serve chilled

Watermelon Juice

A thirst quencher recipe. It is simply delicious and yet highly nutritious with many health benefits. It contains more than 90% water, and a good source of vitamin- A, C, B6, and he minerals-potassium and magnesium.

Watermelon is a seasonal fruit and when it is available, I normally make juices, sorbets or salads. 


Ingredients

2 cups diced Watermelon
1/2 Lemon


Method

  • In a blender, blend watermelon until it is completely pulverized
  •  Add juice of half a lemon
  • If you are using seedless watermelon then you don't need to strain the juice. Otherwise strain the juice using a filter ad discard its contents
  • Serve immediately

Tip-
  • Pick a good watermelon for juicing. It should be bright in color and the stripes should be symmetrical. Most importantly, there should be a yellow patch, which means that the water melon was left to grow in ground and it was ripened under the sun. 
  • If you have picked good watermelon, then no need to add sugar. Else you can add 1/2 tsp for ever cup of juice

Strawberry - Watermelon Juice

Healthy smoothie recipe made with freshly cut watermelon and strawberries.  Beat the heat with this sensational summer beverage !!


Servings : 2

Ingredients

2 cup watermelon cubes
6 Strawberries halved
4 Ice cubes (optional)

Method

  • using a blender, blend watermelon, strawberries and ice cubes until smooth
  • Serve immediately

Mango Lassi

A refreshing drink made with delicious combination of riped mangoes and yogurt. Also added Cardamom in this recipe to give a bonus flavor.


Ingredients

2 Ripe Mangoes, peeled and diced
1 cup Yogurt
1 cup Skimmed milk (or whole milk)
1 cup Ice cubes
3 tsp Sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Method

  • In a blender, blend all the ingredients- mangoes, yogurt, milk, ice cubes, sugar, cardamom powder. The consistency should be very thick
  • Garnish with mint leaves and serve chilled
Tip-
  • You can use honey instead of sugar. I don't use either of them since Mangoes contain enough sugar to sweeten lassi 
  • Always choose a good variety of Mangoes to prepare lassi
  • Don't use ice cubes for blending if you don't plan to serve immediately
